Whitney and Jon's Engagement session

We FINALLY shot Whitney and Jon's engagement photo session this weekend. Prior to this shoot, we had canceled 3 times for one reason or another. It was well worth the wait :)

(You may remember Whitney and Jon from THIS post).

Here's a quick collage of some of this images from that day:

We're shooting their wedding in less than two months! I can't believe it's coming up around the corner.

These two are amazing individuals with alot of love for each other. They say they don't have ANY photos of them together, so this was a special shoot for them. They were very cooperative and were open to everything we had in mind -- very easy to work with. And, they're hilarious!!! We had a lot of fun doing it.

CLICK HERE to view the slideshow of more images we took that day (or click here: http://www.asencilimaging.com/whitneyandjon/engagementphotos) and let us know what you think in the comments field.

It's really picking up for us at A. Sencil Imaging. I have another engagement session this weekend, about 5 album designs in the works and a couple of weddings to shoot... Keep checking back for new photos as I update this blog regularly. Better yet -- scroll down and subscribe to my blog for automatic update notifications sent directly to your email.

Have a great weekend!!!

Aaron Michael Portraits

As promised, here are a few images from the photoshoot I had yesterday with Aaron Michael. He's an up and coming singer I've known now for a couple years. He's been through alot of trials and tribulations in his life that he's quite inspiring in the ways he lets it out on his songs... You can hear some of his music at his myspace page by clicking HERE(or here: www.myspace.com/aaronmichaelofatm). He recorded the first few tracks of his demo album a few weeks ago and if you follow my blog, you may remember that I had the unique opp to shoot at the studio too (read the story by clicking HERE).

He's a busy individual these days, mostly with producing, writing and composing songs. His demo's due out to radio stations and record labels in the near future. He says he's been waiting for "professional" photos to get his material out there... Now, it's just a matter of time until you hear his voice broadcast out of your speakers.

Here are some of the photos we took yesterday. He's previewed them and says that they are awesome! Let us know what YOU think:

Have a great Memorial Day off!

Lupus Walk 2007

It was rainy and windy out yesterday, but there were a more than 250 of us up to the challenge! From what the announcers were saying, this was the first time the Alliance for Lupus Research has ever been to Seattle. More than 30 walking teams signed up for monetary sponsors and on the day of we walked 5K (or 3.1 miles) down beautiful Alki Beach.

We had more than 30 walkers on our team, led by team leader and head uniform designer, Honex Escarez. Team DHO was in full effect! My brother, DEREK, even received a gift certificate to Salty’s on Alki (www.saltys.com) because our team won “Best Uniform”.

Here are a few images:

The folks from Star 101.5 fm were there to pump us up with the music! There were also complimentary refreshments and 10-minute massages for the hard core walkers…

Lupus is a terrible disease that has hit home to my family and me. But yesterday, we were able to raise money and walk for the research and cure of it.

According to http://www.lupusresearch.org not a lot of folks know about Lupus epidemic, but more than 1 million people in the United States alone have it, 9 out of 10 of them being women and being Asian or African. According to the website, there are multiple forms of Lupus, but all of them are autoimmune (or over-active immune) deficiencies effecting, the lungs, heart, kidneys, skin and brain, pretty much making those with Lupus feel miserable and out of commission from their everyday lives for long periods of time. In essence, the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and breaks down the tissues and organs, disabling them to function normally. Though most of the time, it’s controlled and bearable, there are the burdening times when inflammation flares up, leading to (among other symptoms) fever, skin rash and extreme fatigue.

Check out http://www.lupusresearch.org/ for more info on Lupus and how to help find a cure.

Jasmine's First Birthday

Oh my! It’s been a year since this beautiful little toddler was born! Remember her? You can check my blog back a year ago by clicking HERE, HERE, or HERE.

Jasmine celebrated her 1st birthday this weekend and it was a blast. She had a Hello Kitty theme and everyone was dressed in pink! I should’ve worn my pink “I’m too cool for this shirt” shirt I bought on clearance for $3!!! But it slipped my mind :)

Here’s a recap of her day in the form of a collage:

Baby Andrew's Baptism

Yesterday, Baby Andrew was welcomed to the Christian world and I had the opportunity to capture they day.

It was held at Gordon's on the Green in Tukwila. It was an awesome venue! They even enclosed their all-weather gazebo, extending it to the banquet room. Beautiful!!! Also, they were giving away these cool souvenirs with Andrew's face imprinted on it:

Lots of dancing and eating... and dancing and eating... LOL...

At the end of the night, it's safe to say that he was pooped :)

Aaron Michael

I had the unique opportunity to enter the recording studio and photograph a friend of mine: Aaron Michael. He went in this weekend to professionally record his demo album and invited me along to just hang out.

Here's a quick collage I compiled from the day:

He, his cousin Thomas and brother Melvin have joined artistic talents and started their own music production company called ATM Productions. They're also hilarious to hang out with. We were laughing all day -- lost of fun... and inspiring! The owner and sound engineer, Dick Henderson, welcomed us into his home and even provided great technical insight as to what was recorded on the tracks.

Not alot of folks know this, but I always wanted to become a music producer and stepping into Henderson studio brought back alot of memories. Now I'm a photographer and I have the great opportunity to work with alot of people (including artists, producers and art directors) and I feel so blessed.

Aaron's been through alot of life experiences and his mode of communicating and sharing that is through the lyrics of his music. He has a message -- check out his Myspace page. His words truly come from his heart. You can also get a sneak peak of his professionally recorded, unique sound.

By the way, we're shooting his official portraits later in the month. Keep checking back for those.

Take care!

LA Fitness

You can now officially call me a gym member.

www.lafitness.com

Lindsey has been of Pure Fitness since it opened in the Puget Sound area in 2003 and has been trying to get me to join ever since (I REFUSE to pay the unnecessary activation/processing fees… REFUSE!). Now that it has been bought out by LA Fitness (www.lafitness.com), they’re having promotions upon promotions to try to get their membership rosters filled – and they got me:) They gave me an offer I could not refuse (no activation/processing fee, yeah!). To think, I just went along for the ride because I was bored and the hopes that they’ll let me in this one time with a complimentary pass. Now I’m an all-access member!

They’re opening up THREE more facilities in my area, all of them having basketball/volleyball/tennis courts and Olympic-sized swimming pools! I can’t wait.

Check them out!
