Glenn and Olga Album Design

I met my cousin Glenn for the first time a year ago when he came up from Australia to visit some family. He was here for only a few days, but I showed him mostly all of what Seattle has to offer. He says he had a blast!

Anyway, he got married in January to his beautiful wife, Olga and I feel so bad that I was unable to attend. He sent me one of his invitations via air mail too!

Last week, a package arrived in the mail for me. When I opened it up, it was a disk with high-resolution photos from their special day. I knew EXACTLY what to do with them :) -- build an album!!!

Here are some of the snapshots it:

I take album design to heart as this is what enticed me to join the wedding photography industry. It also allows me to help my subjects and customers display and present my work (and their special day) in the most beautiful way possible. It also allows me to relive the event as well.

Even though I didn’t shoot any of the photos in the album, I had so much fun designing it. I felt like I was really there :)

I hope Glenn and Olga enjoy their album design… It’s the least I can do for not attending their special day :) Normally, I charge up to $65 per page, but I didn’t charge them anything for this…

Have a great week!

Spring Puyallup Fair 2007

Spring Puyallup Fair 2007

We took our little cousins the Spring Puyallup fair this past weekend and they had a lot of fun. It would’ve been a blast if the weather cooperated – It rained all but 30 minutes of the visit! Gotta love the Pacific Northwest weather.

Anyway here are some photos from the fair:

Lindsey liked the funnel cakes so much, that she made her own yesterday. I have to say, the homemade ones are a lot better (and cheaper).

Marcus Trufant

Okay, first Kobe Bryant, then Jonathan Jayne, now MARCUS TRUFANT from the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS! That's right, I saw ANOTHER athlete/celebrity in public, this time I have proof :) That's THREE in one week!!! I'm on a roll.

Earlier tonight, we went to Acme Bowl to celebrate our friend, Reynelyn's , birthday and there he was with his huge family. He was cool and greeted everyone that greeted him. He seemed like a down-to-earth, stand-up guy. He didn't have any animosity towards anyone who approached him, rather, he embraced him. The whole time we were there, we observed him sign a few autographs, take a few pictures and even fit in a few frames of bowling. Very generous!

Here's the "proof" I was refering to earlier. I took this picture of Francis, Lindsey and Mr. Trufant with my Canon SD630 (great camera):

New Business Cards

They're finally here -- well actually they've been here for a week, but I wanted test them out in hard copy form first -- my new business cards!!! I've gone through Overnight Prints before, but they've really outdone themselves this time.

They're FAST! I created my own design, front and back, and uploaded it directly to them. All 1000 were printed overnight and shipped the next day! I'm impressed with the thickness and the FREE UV coating adds that high-quality feel.

I used a photo from Roma and Obet's Wedding a few weekends ago. I think it's started a new trend.

I like to keep my business dynamic and feel that we're always evolving as photographers -- what better way to illustrate that on my business cards? After every wedding, I think I'll redesign my business cards with new photos from my latest wedding (cool perk for future brides huh? LOL).

Anyway here are a few images of the cards.

Thanks for sharing :)

Jonathan Jayne from American Idol

So, yesterday on my daily jog I saw the famous American Idol reject (is that an oxymoron?) Jonathan Jayne and (what looked like) his brother strolling along. I know I know, Kobe Bryant last week and Jonathan this week? Unbelievable.

He was even wearing the same Peyton Manning Colts jersey seen here on Jimmy Kimmel Live:

I wonder who I'll see on my jog today?

Kobe Bryant

I stepped out of the office today and soak in some of the beautiful 75 degree weather we're blessed with, and there he was, strolling down the street with his trainer... Kobe Bryant! The Lakers are in town to play the Sonics at the Key.

I shook his hand today!

We crossed paths and about one step later, I thought to myself, "That's Kobe Bryant?!?!?" It dawned on my that I was thinking out loud (which I never, ever do -- I'm a self-thinker) when he turned around and said, "Yes... yes I am!" It was cool, because he went out of his way to walk back and shake my hand.

I could've gotten his picture, but I couldn't access the camera function on my new phone fast enough... LOL!!! By the time I figured it out, he was halfway down the block and I didn't want to be like a raving lunatic fan and/or paparazzi (I sure felt like it though, LOL).

Despite the negative pub he's had the last few years and the suave swagger, he seems like a cool guy. No matter what people think about him, he's an awesome basketball player!

Dominic, Xzavier and Max

My nephews D, X and Max had their 2nd and 3rd birthday party yesterday and it was so much fun. They had an "athletic wear" theme, so everyone (well, almost everyone) wore jerseys representing their (or their parents) favorite team :)

Here's a quick collage from the party to start your week:

X, Max and D - 2007

Xzavier and Dominic were just getting over a cold from the week before, so they weren't really into taking any photos. But Max was fine!!! He was even taking pictures of ME! LOL, can you find him above with his camera? ;)

We shot their yearly photos at the park about a month ago. You can see some of them here HERE and HERE.

Check back shortly for more photos...

Have a great day!

Canceled e-session :(

We were soooo excited to Whiney and Jon's engagement photos today, but a last-minute emergency in Jon's family halted our plans. We aren't mad though. Family comes first and foremost in my life, so I understand how it is when things like this arise unexpectedly.

I knew from the beginning that they were a loving and passionate couple -- that's why I agreed to shoot their wedding in July :) - Thanks for introducing them to me, SHEILA! They were also bummed about not being able to shoot today, but they were still willing to accomodate and meet me for a few minutes and pay their deposit. I was amazed that, through all the obstacles they're facing now, they wanted to make sure they locked us in as their photographers. They are very loyal and now, more than ever, I'm highly eager to photograph them! Please pray for them.

We've tentatively scheduled to shoot their e-sessions next weekend, so stay tuned for those.

Jon, my blessings and prayers are with you and your family...
