House-sitting

Well, yesterday was my last night house-sitting for Anthony and Pam. They're flying in from Hawaii tonight -- I'm going to pick them up at baggage claim. I bet they're nice and toasty with darker-colored skin than before. They're SOOOOO lucky! I want to go to HAWAII!!! Anthony said that there are alot of beautiful people there and they are all so nice. Things are more expensive on the islands, but he says that it's well worth it.

One day, who knows, (hopefully in the NEAR future) I can get a chance to go to Hawaii. Hey, maybe YOU or someone you know is getting married in Hawaii... HEY!!! Maybe I can shoot their wedding!!!! Call me and we'll work something out. LOL!

You might just be reading this blog in the near future while I'm logging it AT a nice beach-front hotel on Waikiki!!! I'll keep pre-visualizing and it will come. I PROMISE!!!

Lindsey at Discovery Park

Here's the image I promised. Lindsey JUST sent it to me. She took this photo at Discovery Park on Saturday. Allergies hit us like a ton of bricks, so I wasn't in the mood to shoot (weird huh?) but we managed this ONE. All together, it was a fun day! Now, back to house-sitting...

LINDSEY'S BIRTHDAY!!!

Saturday (6/24) was Lindsey's birthday. It’s nice to get together with her and her cousins once in a while (EVERY WEEKEND). They’re so fun and they are my best friends. They even consider ME a cousin. I’ve never been invited to more “family” parties and get-togethers with anybody else. I FEEL like a “cousin” to them!

Anyway, Lindsey’s been talking about wanting a new digital camera for a long time so I got her one. She’s been digitally enhancing and processing images almost everyday and she’s getting really good at the creativity aspect of it. Her problem is she’s running out of material and photos she’s taken in the past. Plus, she wanted to be able to record ALL of the valuable memories of her and her family (and me too!) She was talking about the SONY CYBERSHOT DSC-N1 and how it’s a 3” (WHOA!) touch-screen and how you can use the stylus to DRAW images on the photos without touching the original images. I told her that it kind of defeats the purpose of when you can just add text in PHOTOSHOP, LOL! But it’s really cool none-the-less. And the 8.1 megapixels make for really clear shots!

I didn’t want to betray my friends at NIKON, but she already has a Sony Vaio notebook, so this addition would integrate seamlessly. If Nikon built a touch-screen consumer-grade camera, believe me when I say that it would have been BOUGHT!!!

It was a good dinner! You should have seen all the ORANGE gear that she received! I was blinded by the brightness… hahaha!

Check out these photos of us at THE RAM RESTAURANT AND BREWERY. You’ll be able to see the N1 in action! Lindsey's taking a "portrait" of MOSES below.

HUGE screen huh?

Discovery Park

We went to Discovery Park on Saturday afternoon but it wasn’t as fun as it is when we normally go. There’s an awesome view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, but I didn’t get any images of them… I was busy scratching my eyes out!!! Allergies are a pain, sometimes literally. I couldn’t keep myself from scratching my watery eyes. It’s kind of funny (but not at the time) because Lindsey and her cousins (especially JUDE) are really funny when we all get together. So he’d make fun of us because we were very allergic to the pollen, sand and dust, but we couldn’t help BUT laugh! And every time we laughed (about every minute), my eyes would start watering again… I just wanted to rip them out of my head and throw them against sand paper to alleviate the itchiness.

I was supposed to shoot a wedding there on September 2nd. Good thing Rose and Dennis decided to shoot at SUNSET HILL PARK instead ;)

Lindsey has a great picture of us at the beach area, illustrating how small my eyes shrunk after the allergy-full hike through the trails, shrubs and ivy of Discovery Park. Hopefully she’ll send it to me so I can share it with you.

BOOKMARK MY BLOG AND KEEP COMING BACK TO STAY POSTED!

House-sitting

WOW!!! What a weekend. Though I didn’t do too much, photography wise, I did get a few shots of my VERY eventful weekend. I don’t even know where to start… I guess I’ll just go in order.

First of ALL, I’m housing for my close friends Anthony and Pam. They’re in Hawaii right now attending a wedding and celebrating their anniversary. HOW LUCKY, huh! Lindsey and I were supposed to go, but somehow it fell through. Now that I think back at it, we should have! There was nothing (but ourselves) that stopped us. Ant told me that Jerry (the groom) said that it was an open invitation. So, since about January, I kept asking Ant to talk to Jerry about me doing their photography. I was given the impression that they had already hired someone on the Islands to take their photos, but about two weeks before they leave, Pam tells me that Jerry’s really contemplating having me shoot it. I COULDN’T GET THE TIME OFF WORK!!! So, it’s back to original plan. I’m feeding their cats, setting the alarms and washing the dishes while they soak up the sun in Honolulu. That’s the life!!! At least he left ALL four of his cars with full tanks of gas :)

I had Lindsey and her cousins over on Friday to hang out with me in the mostly-quiet home. Believe me, it was far from it! So, Moses brought over teriyaki and ordered pizza for us all. It was great!

Moses and I also talked about the Nikon line of cameras. Mo has dipped into all types of media and would like to dabble in photography as well. I talked to him about my business and how I absolutely enjoy sharing in creating memories for the bride, groom and their families. It’s my passion!!!

It’s funny too, because Mo’s such an impulse-buyer… He’s the epitome of the adage, “You only live once”. He’s the type that would just go out and take the plunge of purchasing this pricey piece. He’s looking for a constant hobby… Maybe he’ll find one in imagery. Oh and better yet, maybe I’ll have a second-photographer AND partner in A. Sencil Imaging. Tell your friends and family to book now before we raise our prices, LOL!!! Well, as far as him getting his camera, tune in to a later blog to find out if he actually did (hint: HE DID!!!)

Check out some images of us just hanging out!

Family Dinner

Phew, it's been a busy weekend!!! I'm glad I can relax take the day and relax. I absolutely LOVE digital imaging and design... Though, I've been at my computer all afternoon, I feel like I've accomplished so much in getting these images up and ready to share with you!
Last night, our family got together at Seattle's International District to celebrate my little cousin's christening. I have a huge family and only a handful of us were there -- but that handful took up the whole rear banquet room and then some at the HOUSE OF HONG!
Here's a few images from the dinner. As always, feel free to open these photos up save them to your computer for your enjoyment. And also, please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Vashon Island Images

I had the slideshow active on this page for about a day and realized that it's a little distracting when viewers are reading up on what's new with me and listening to and viewing the music and slideshow playing in the background. Also, it will be somewhat challenging when I have multiple slideshows going on at the same time... LOL!!! I'll have ALOT more slideshows here, BELIEVE THAT!!!
Anyway, here are some of the images I shot Friday! We had sooooo much fun at Vashon Island. It's funny how an island we can see across the way can be so different than the everyday norm. Their "downtown" was merely four blocks with ONE traffic light and two stop signs!!! It's humbling going into a different town and not knowing your way around. I mean, I wasn't a driver, but I still had no idea where we were driving, yet I can navigate ALL of the twenty-five miles of the city of Seattle!!!
We went there expecting that we'd catch a cooler-full of perch, but ANTHONY only ended up catching ONE. EMILIO caught about 45 of the 50 shiners, though... This 9-year-old went to work!!!
Here's a list of everyone ELSE that came along and made this a memorable trip:
JUDE (of Jude Production) - thanks for the food!
LINDSEY (of A. Sencil Imaging)
Dylan
Aldrin
Ryan
The twins!
Uncle Burt and Aunt Remy
Prince
Check out some photos (go ahead and click on the thumbnails -- they'll open up in another window... Just "right-click" and "save" away) ENJOY!!!
